I have decided to lose weight - Alfred Tsang
The family doctor also gave me some advice. He told me to lose weight, to eat sugar-free products and to drink low-caloric drinks. I have decided to lose weight, so I need to eat less meat, more vegetables and fruit. Now I often eat home cooking, avoid eating unhealthy snacks, drinking much water and exercise more to get in shape.
Something I Decided To Do Recently is eating healthy food and be more active--By Evelyn
When I was a little girl I liked to do exercise. I remember when I was at school I always enjoyed playing basketball and playing with friends, but when I became adult my life change I stopped doing exercise. My life wasn’t active anymore I started to became like not a positive person. After that I got sick I had problems with my stomach and I got more weight. So I went to the doctor and he told me to do more exercise and eat more healthy food, but actually I didn’t pay attention to that. And I didn’t change anything. I was doing the same things every day, but a while later I got more weight and also I got more stress and the problems of my stomach became more often and I had severe pain. Well I got back to the doctor and he told me that if I want to be healthy I must do more exercise and eat healthy food. So I diced to push myself and do more exercise and stop eating junk food and I eat more healthy food. Now my life has changed. I feel much better! I feel renovated and I’m losing weight. I feel very happy that I changed that bad habit in my life.
The Time I Quit Swimming -- Denise
The day of my new class we got to the swimming pool and instead of going to the shallow end the teachers walked us to the deeper end. Then he told us to dive in and swim all the way to the end and back. I looked out. It seemed very far to the other side. Unlike my previous teachers, he was not bouncing in the water waiting to help us, but standing on the side with his whistle. He blew his whistle and the first group dove in. I waited nervously. When it was my turn I dove in and swam to the end and back. I was tired, but I made it. My mom told me later that she was proud of me, but I just cried and cried. I told her I hated swimming and wanted to quit. She never made me go back to that swim class, and I never actually took a swim class ever again. Last summer, my sons took their first swim class. I hope they won’t want to quit like I did!
What have I decided to do recently - Li Li Chang
City College’s course is near the end of this semester. In my mind, doing homework the teacher gave us is very important, and also is students’ responsibility. I think only reading the text book and doing homework is not good enough. I was thinking about how to improve my English reading and writing in different ways. So, I changed my mind recently. I try to find out which way is good and better for me to improve my English quickly.
Do you know what I recently decided to do? - Amanda Fung
Do you know what I recently decided to do? Actually, I decided to lose weight many years ago, but it was very easy to give up. I recalled when I was 13 years old, I was skinny. I had never had this problem before. I remembered the teachers worried about my health; they said I was so slim. My mother brought me to see a doctor; the doctor gave me some advice. For example, eat more nutritious food and take some healthy medicine. The doctor said that I must gain more weight. Later, I was growing up, I felt pretty good in my shape. Until I got married and had my first baby, my body looked like a ball. It was getting fatter and fatter. Oh! My goodness! I gained about 26 pounds. It was terrible. I had never imaged how fat I was. After my baby was born, I still gained about 15 pounds. I couldn’t believe it. At that moment, it was my first time to decide to be on diet. I kept doing more exercise, ate less meat and drank more water. Six months later, I lost about 10 lbs. It was wonderful. I thought if I kept doing it, I would be in my nice shape again. Some months later, I was pregnant again. Oh my gosh! I got 35 pounds before my second baby born. It was amazing. Based on my previous job, I needed to contact some customers every day; usually we would go to a cafĂ© or restaurant to meet each other. Of course, I would eat and drink something with the customer. Day by day, I got fatter. Even though I was very busy and also had a lot stress every day, it was hard to keep the weight down. Until I quit the job and came to the
What should I do? I decided I must lose 20 pounds. It was my goal. I was planning to make some changes. First, I will do more exercise every day, such as sit ups and running, maybe I will go to swim too. And also I will cut back on sugar, especially soda and junk food. I will eat more vegetables and less meat. One of the important things is I don’t get too full for any meal and drink some water every day. Sometimes I didn’t eat rice at night because my friend told me it will be easier to lose weight faster. Now I am continuing to follow my plan, I hope I can fulfill my goal for the future. My elder son told me that he wanted to be on diet with me. When he was enjoying his meal, he always eats a lot. He totally forgot what he promised. What is his goal? His goal is thrown away.

I've decided to take the credit classes.-- Paul Tan
Recently, I have decided to take the credit class this summer. I’ve waited for it for more than one year. I can’t wait to study the credit class. I am very excited now.
Why should I have to wait for one year? The first reason is about the money. All the students who take credit classes need money to support their study, such as the books and other fee. So we need financial aid. California decided that only the residents of Cal can get the state financial aid. That’s why I have to wait for one year to become a resident of Cal. The second reason is the language. I came to a country that speaks different language. I need to get used to speak English and improve my English level. That needs time.
I am going to study in the ocean campus this summer. That’s easy for me to get there by bus. But it’s not easy to get As in all courses. I must go to school on time and finish homework on time, too. I should listen to the teacher carefully in the class and take some notes. What’s more, I had better do the homework better than others and review what I learn in the class. If I have some free time, I hope to do a part-time job. I hope to transfer to UCLA when I graduate from City College of San Francisco. I will do my best.
